Cookie policy

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site work properly and can provide information about how the site is used.

Cookies we use

Google Analytics (optional — requires your consent)

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our site — which pages are popular, how people find us, and where we can improve. When you visit, Google Analytics runs in consent mode by default, meaning it collects aggregated, anonymous data without setting any cookies.

If you click "Accept cookies" on our banner, Google Analytics switches to full mode and sets the following cookies:

  • _ga — distinguishes unique visitors. Expires after 2 years.
  • _ga_* — maintains session state. Expires after 24 hours.

You can decline cookies and Google Analytics will continue to collect anonymous, aggregated data only — no cookies are stored and no individual user tracking takes place.

Vercel (strictly necessary)

Our hosting provider (Vercel) may set a small number of strictly necessary cookies for load balancing and security. These do not require your consent under UK PECR regulations and do not track you.

Sanity Studio (admin only)

Our content management system at /studio sets authentication cookies for logged-in editors. These are not set for public visitors.

Your choices

You can accept or decline analytics cookies using the banner shown on your first visit. Your choice is remembered in your browser's local storage. To change your mind later:

  1. Open your browser's developer tools (usually F12)
  2. Go to Application → Local Storage → this site's URL
  3. Delete the cookie-consent entry
  4. Refresh the page — the banner will reappear

You can also block all cookies in your browser settings, although this may affect how some websites work (ours works fine without cookies).

What we don't use

  • No advertising cookies
  • No social media tracking cookies
  • No third-party marketing pixels (Facebook, TikTok, etc.)
  • No fingerprinting or cross-site tracking
